Material checks
Inspection and testing requirements are set against the project specification, with the records and acceptance responsibilities agreed before the relevant work.
Work at height and restricted spaces
Work methods must address the particular hazards, access arrangements and protective measures for the task before it begins.
Site coordination
Planning connects the work sequence, site access and the activities of different trades. The project team agrees the appropriate briefing and supervision arrangements.
Incident protocol
The project plan sets out how incidents and near misses are reported, investigated and followed up, including the people responsible for corrective action.
Handover and defects obligations
Handover records, defects periods, warranties and the responsibility for remedial work are defined in the signed contract. This website does not offer a separate or unlimited structural warranty.
Engineering safety, not just HSE
The structural side of safety.
Construction safety includes the permanent structure, temporary works and the sequence in which loads are introduced. Retrofit work also needs to account for the condition and use of the existing building.
The appointed design and construction teams need a clear process for inspections, requests for information and proposed changes. A website summary cannot replace the project drawings, engineering review or the agreed inspection plan.
